Hold the ruler in place with your left hand and move to the opposite end of the ruler. Place a mark on the track at the end of the ruler. Label this location with a "1". See Illustration 3.

Roll the track forward so that you can continue your measurement of the inside surface of the track with your rule. See Illustration 4.Note: The previous mark "1" must remain visible for placement of the measuring rule for the next measurement. In addition, the track must be on a flat surface in order to obtain an accurate measurement.

Move the ruler so that the "Zero" end of the ruler is now flush with the mark "1". Again, align the rule so that the rule is approximately 1/2 inch from the outside edge of the track. The rule should remain parallel to the edge of the track. See Illustration 5.Hold the ruler in place with your left hand and move to the opposite end of the ruler. Place a mark on the track at the end of the ruler. Label this location with a "2".

Repeat the process of marking the track until you are within one length of the ruler from mark "X". See Illustration 6.

Measure the distance between your last mark and your starting point "X". See Illustration 7.Then, add all of the measurements in order to determine the inner circumference. Your measurement should be within 1/8 inch of the factory measurements that are provided in Table 1.
