Tractors Equipped With A Backhoe And A Piston-Type Hydraulic PumpWhen a D3 Tractor is equipped with a backhoe and a 3G4096 Piston-Type Pump, a 3G4657 Check Valve is used in the pump outlet line. The arrow (a symbol on the body of the valve) on the side of the check valve must be installed with the head of the arrow toward the pump. This is the reverse to normal installation of a check valve. Installation of the check valve this way will give maximum pump flow (26.5 GPM) during operation of the backhoe. During operation of the bulldozer, the pump flow will be limited to approximately 14.5 GPM.
