Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Fast Fill Method
Your machine is equipped with a fast fill service panel in the service center. A port in the fast fill service panel allows the transmission oil to be changed faster than by using the conventional method.Note: This procedure changes the oil in the transmission, torque converter, drop box, and pump drive case.
Operate the machine to warm the oil.
Park the machine on a level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground and apply slight downward pressure. Engage the parking brake. Stop the engine.

(1) Fast fill service panel
(2) Service center access door
Open access door (2) to the service center that is on the left-hand side of the rear bumper. The transmission oil fast fill port is located in fast fill service panel (1).Reference: For more information about using the transmission oil fast fill port refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Service Center, Fast Fill Service Panel".
Locate the correct male coupler for the transmission oil fast fill port, and connect an oil pump to the fitting.
Turn on the oil pump and withdraw the transmission oil from the transfer gear case. Dispose of the used oil properly.
Turn off the oil pump. Clean the end of the male coupler.
Change the transmission oil filter elements.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission Oil Filter - Replace" for the correct procedure.
Clean the transmission magnetic screens if the transmission oil pump fail has failed, or if the transmission is disassembled.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission Magnetic Screen - Clean" for the correct procedure.

Remove transmission breather (8).
Wash the breather in a clean, nonflammable solvent.
Allow the breather to dry or use air pressure to dry the breather. Install the transmission breather.
Connect the oil pump to the male coupler. Fill the transfer gear case with new oil.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the type of lubricant.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the refill capacity.
Clean the end of the male coupler and close the door to the service center.
Start the engine. Cycle the transmission control to warm the oil. Check the transmission for oil leaks.

(3) Transmission oil level sight gauge
Check the transmission oil level in transmission oil level sight gauge (3). The transmission oil level sight gauge is on the left-hand side of the machine. The sight gauge is viewed in the hitch area. Maintain the oil level between the marks on the oil level sight gauge. If necessary, add oil.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual,
