Removal Procedure
Start By:
Separate the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Seperate".

Use the hydraulic track adjuster to extend the front idler (1), the recoil spring assembly and the hydraulic track adjuster.Note: Use a pry bar to slide the front idler, the recoil spring assembly and the hydraulic track adjuster out of the track roller frame. However, if the guides in the track roller frame are rusted or there is an accumulation of dirt or rocks in the guides, the unit must be pulled out.
Attach straps and a lift truck to the front idler, as shown.
Pull front idler (1), the recoil spring assembly and the hydraulic track adjuster forward. Do not remove the assembly completely from the track roller frame.

Attach a suitable lifting device to the front idler (1) and the recoil spring assembly, as shown.
Slide the front idler, the recoil spring assembly and the hydraulic track adjuster out of the track roller frame as a unit. The weight of the unit is approximately 547 kg (1206 lb).

Rotate the front idler, the recoil spring assembly (2) and the hydraulic track adjuster. Leave the hoist attached.
Install the front idler partially into the track roller frame. Leave the four bolts that hold the recoil spring assembly to the front idler exposed.

Attach a suitable lifting device to hydraulic track adjuster (3) .
Remove setscrews (4) that hold the hydraulic track adjuster to the recoil spring assembly.
Remove hydraulic track adjuster (3). The weight of hydraulic track adjuster (3) is approximately 52 kg (115 lb).

Attach a suitable lifting device to recoil spring assembly (2), as shown.
Remove bolts (5) that hold recoil spring assembly (2) to the front idler.
Remove recoil spring assembly (2). The weight of the recoil spring assembly 2 is approximately 250 kg (552).
Attach a suitable lifting device to the front idler. Remove the front idler from the track roller frame. Weight of the front idler is approximately 245 kg (541).
