With the engine running, this machine spot turns when the steering wheel is turned, even with the transmission in NEUTRAL and the parking brake engaged.To avoid personal injury due to unexpected machine movement, make sure the area is free of personnel before starting the engine.Be prepared to apply the service brakes to counteract any steering that might occur when the engine starts.
Use the following procedure in order to start the engine when the ambient temperature is 0°C (32°F). Also, use this procedure for engines that are at operating temperature or near operating temperature when the temperature is below 0°C (32°F).
Never push or tow the machine to start the engine. Doing so may damage the drive train.
Move the transmission control lever to the NEUTRAL position.Note: A safety device prevents the starter motor from operating unless the transmission control lever is in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Move the implement control levers to the HOLD position.
Move the governor control lever to the LOW IDLE position.
Fully depress the inching clutch control.
Briefly sound the horn in order to alert bystanders.
Do not crank the engine for more than 30 seconds. If the engine does not start, allow the starter to cool for two minutes before cranking again. The engine start switch must be turned to the OFF position before trying to restart.

Turn the engine start switch key to the START position in order to crank the engine. During cranking of the engine, push the governor control lever forward momentarily to the HIGH IDLE position. Next, pull the governor control lever back to the LOW IDLE position. Next, push the governor control lever halfway in the forward direction while you are cranking the engine. Release the key as soon as the engine starts. The key will return to the RUN position. Once the engine starts return the governor control lever to the LOW IDLE position.
