The new cylinder mounting and hoses can be installed on earlier trucks.
Parts required are listed in Chart B.
Procedure
1. Make sure the dump body is fully lowered and the tailgate is fully closed.2. Block the tailgate in the fully closed position.3. Remove and discard the tailgate cylinder hoses.4. Remove the cylinder mounting and install new mounting (1) in its place.5. Assemble cylinder anchor (3) to the new mounting without any shims (4). Do not fully tighten the hardware at this stage.6. Make sure that the tailgate is blocked firmly in the fully closed position and look for a gap between the mating faces of the anchor and mounting. If there is a gap, the cylinder is fully extended and the piston will contact the end cap before the tailgate is fully closed. Install shims (4) as necessary to ensure that the tailgate is always fully closed before the cylinder reaches the end of its stroke.7. Install the new hoses.8. Remove the blocks and check the operation of the tailgate.
