PROBLEM
Certain Reman air compressors can fail. If the compressor fails it may cause damage to the engine front gear train.
This range of compressors is an addition to the range which was previously removed from dealer parts stock.
ACTION REQUIRED
Dealers should inspect certain Reman compressors in Dealer Parts Stock associated with this failure. Compressors with potential failures were made between the dates of Jan 1, 2008 and April 30, 2008. Refer to Image 1 for part numbers of Reman Air Compressors to inspect.
This range of compressors is an addition to the range which was previously removed from dealer parts stock.
The first character is the build shift (1 or 2), the second character is the build month, third and fourth character is for the date of the month, followed by the last two digits of the build year. G or H in the seventh character position indicates a Reman assembly.

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all parts removed from dealer parts stock.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Any parts removed from parts stock should be returned on your next core shipment to local core inspection facility. Please Ignore the Normal 15 day holding period requirement. Package these parts separately from normal cores on shipment and label each case with PIxxxx (This Letter). All parts returned must have a Core Credit Request (CCR) entered into CMIS2 to allow for core credit refund to be processed. Document your Cat warranty claim number on the CCR to ensure 100% core credit is processed for the returned parts.
