Caterpillar MachineFluid Recommendations.1. Remove implement pump from machine.2. Replace the failed 6E-6477 Cartridge Groupwith a new 6E-6477 Cartridge Group.3. Install implement pump on machine. Pre-fillthe Implement, Pilot, and Steering Pumps with recommended hydraulic oilbefore starting the machine. Always use clean oil when adding oil to thesystem. Clean oil must be at an ISO level of at least 16/13.4. Before starting engine, fill hydraulic tankwith recommended hydraulic oil. Always use clean oil when you add oil tothe system. Clean oil must be at an ISO level of at least 16/13.5. Start the engine at low idle. Allow theengine to run for several seconds. Stop the engine.6. Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank.If necessary, refill the tank.7. Start engine and maintain low idle. Maintainhydraulic oil level until it reaches the full mark on hydraulic oil levelsite gauge.8. At low idle, cycle the tilt cylinder a minimumof three times. Do not allow the circuit to go into relief.9. Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank.If necessary, refill the tank.10. At low idle, cycle the lift cylinders aminimum of three times. Do not allow the circuit to go into relief.11. Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank.If necessary, refill the tank.12. At low idle and with the frame lock installed,cycle the steering circuit to a full right and full left turn.13. Lower lift arms and remove the frame locklink. Cycle the steering to full right and full left.14. Check hydraulic oil level and add oil ifnecessary.15. Take a Scheduled Oil Sample (SOS). Referto Contamination Control Guidelines, SEBF8758. If cleanliness is not atthe acceptable ISO level of 18/15, perform a kidney looping procedure.Use 2047392 Filter Cart for kidney looping in accordance with ContaminationControl Guidelines, SEBF8493.
