Information:
The two-speed planetary transmission is mounted to the axle. The transmission includes the following components:
Stationary multi-disc clutch arrangement (3)
Rotating multi-disc clutch arrangement (4)
Internal gear pump (10) for lubricating and cooling the discs, plates, bearings, and gears within the transmission. The stationary multi-disc clutch arrangement consists of six discs (8), nine plates (7), and one end plate. The discs are located in the planetary gear. The plates are engaged by the housing and the discs are engaged by the ring of the planetary gear. The inside circumference of the clutch discs engages on the ring of the planetary gear. In this arrangement, the plates are engaged by the ring of the planetary gear and the discs are engaged by the drive shaft. The rotating multi-disc clutch arrangement consists of 12 discs, 11 plates, and one end plate.Transmission lubricating pump (10) is connected to input shaft (2) of the transmission and supplies oil flow to the internal components of the transmission. Since the pump is connected to the input shaft, the pump is designed to provide oil flow only during forward travel. However, the pump will provide small amounts of oil flow during reverse travel.Active Parking Brake

(22) Swivel When the parking brake is active, transmission solenoid valve (16) is not energized. Both multi-disc clutch arrangement (3) and multi-disc clutch arrangement (4) are pressed together by the force from spring (1). In the locked position, both clutch assemblies are engaged and this acts as the parking brake function. The pressure switch for the transmission solenoid valve protects the transmission from low control pressure. The pressure switch will not allow oil pressure lower than 2600 kPa (377 psi) to the transmission. If the pressure is lower than 2600 kPa (377 psi), the solenoid will not energize when a speed is selected.First Gear

(22) Swivel If the machine is equipped with a medium pressure circuit, the pressure reducing valve regulates the oil pressure and the valve only allows 3000 kPa (435 psi) of pressure to flow to the transmission. When the operator selects first gear, transmission solenoid valve (16) is energized. The solenoid valve shifts downward and pilot oil then flows out of port "K" and to the transmission. Both clutch assemblies (3) and (4) are engaged by the force of spring (1). By pressurizing port "K" in the transmission, clutch piston (19) shifts to the right against the force of spring (1). The piston is disengaged from multi-disc clutch arrangement (4). As multi-disc clutch (4) is disengaged, clutch piston (18) remains engaged to multi-disc clutch arrangement (3) by the force of spring (1). Now, the transmission is in
