Assembly Procedure

Install relief valve (10) and the seal. Lightly lubricate the seal with the lubricant that is being sealed. Install locknut (8) and adjusting screw (9). Tighten the nut (8) to a torque of 18 4 N m (13 3 lb ft).

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install slug (7), spool (6), spring (5), and stop (4). Install plug (3) and the O-ring seal. Tighten plug (3) to a torque of 50 5 N m (37 4 lb ft).

Install plate (2) and install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 30 4 N m (22 3 lb ft). End By:
Install the relief valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Relief Valve (Transmission Hydraulic Control) - Install".
Refer to Testing and Adjusting for the proper adjustment of relief valve.
