Sudden movement of the machine or release of air under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the air system and brakes.
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from operating machines and move away from personnel.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine. Also, all personnel should be visible to the operator.

Move the switch for the CUSHION-HITCH (1) to the LOCKDOWN position. Make sure that the rear bracket assembly of the hitch is down against the front hitch assembly.
Activate the parking and secondary brakes by pulling the parking and secondary brake knob (2) . Lower the bowl to the ground. Lower the apron. Stop the engine.
Depress the service brake control pedal many times until all the air pressure has been released from the system.
Make sure that all air pressure is released before you perform any of the following procedures:
Loosen any fitting, any hose, or any component.
Tighten any fitting, any hose, or any component.
Remove any fitting, any hose, or any component.
Adjust any fitting, any hose, or any component.Note: Before any operation checks are made, open the drain valves in order to release any water in the air reservoirs. Water lowers the capacity of the air reservoirs and water can cause the air compressor to run constantly. Close the drain valve. Start the engine and operate the machine until normal operating temperature is reached.
