Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the seals during assembly.

Install two wiper seals (21) to cylinder assembly (5). Install four plugs (20) to cylinder assembly (5). Install wiper seal (19) and two seals (18) to piston (17). Install piston (17) to cylinder assembly (5) .
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Position two springs (16) and support (15) to cylinder assembly (5). Install Tooling (A) to cylinder assembly (5). Use Tooling (A) to compress two springs (16) in order to install the washers and eight bolts (14) that secure support (15) to cylinder assembly (5). Remove the tooling from the cylinder assembly.
Install O-ring seal (13), retainer (12) and rod (3) to cylinder assembly (5). Install diaphragm (11), plate (10) and clamp (9) to cylinder assembly (5). Tighten two nuts (8) that secure clamp (9) and plate (10) to cylinder assembly (5) .
Install nut (7) to the original position on rod (3). Install locknut (6) to rod (3). Tighten locknut (6) to secure nut (7) on rod (3) .
Install boot (4) over rod (3). Install locknut (1) and yoke assembly (2) to rod (3). Tighten locknut (1) that secures yoke assembly (2) on rod (3) .End By: Install the brake actuator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Brake Actuator - Install". The information is in this manual.
