Loosen set screw(4) and turn cylinder to correct position.(7) Rubber toric seals and all contacting surfaces must be clean and dry prior to assembly. Smear a thin film of oil onto the contacting surfaces of the metal seals just before installation. Lubricate all other seals on assembly.(9) Torque for bolts (after adjusting wheel bearings) ... 130-170N m (95-125lb.ft.)(13) Torque for spindle bolts ... 425-525N m (313-387lb.ft.)(14) Torque for brake drum bolts ... 245-295N m (180-218lb.ft.)Wheel Bearing Adjustment.
1. Install the wheel assembly (10) on the spindle and install hub and ring gear assembly(11).2. Measure the thickness of retainer(8) at the three small holes and average the measurements.3. Install retainer(8) without shims(3) using four bolts evenly spaced and tightened to 120-150 N m(90-110lb.ft.) while turning the wheel slowly by hand.4. Loosen the four bolts and re-torque to 18-32N m (15-25lb.ft.)5. Use a depth micrometer to measure the distance to the end of the spindle(12) through the three small holes. Average the three measurements.6. Subtract the average measurement made in step(2) from the average measurement made in step (5). This is the gap between the end of the spindle and the retainer.7. Make up a shim pack whose thickness equals the measured gap plus 0.2mm(0.008in.).8. Install the shim pack, retainer and bolts. Tighten the bolts to their specified torque.
