Removal Procedure
Disconnect batteries before performance of any service work.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Put identification marks on the wires for the electric starting motor. Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the electric starting motor.

Remove three bolts (1) and the washers that secure electric starting motor (2) to the flywheel housing.
Remove electric starting motor (2) and the gasket from the flywheel housing.Note: Check the condition of the gasket (not shown). If the gasket is damaged, use a new part for replacement .Installation Procedure

Put the gasket (not shown) and electric starting motor (2) in position on the flywheel housing. Install three bolts (1) that secure electric starting motor (2) to the flywheel housing.
Connect the wires to the terminals of electric starting motor (2) .Note: For the torques of the terminal nuts, refer to Specifications, "Electric Starting Motor".
