Information:
2. Disconnect hose assembly (1) from each side of supplemental steering pump (2). 3. Disconnect supply hose assembly (3) from manifold (4).4. Disconnect hose assembly (6) from each side of the manifold.5. Disconnect two hose assemblies (5) from the bottom of the manifold. 6. Remove six bolts (7) and manifold (4) from the machine. 7. Remove two nuts (9) and supplemental steering pump (8).Install Supplemental Steering Pump
1. Clean and inspect the O-ring seals, and make a replacement if any seals are worn or damaged. 2. Put gasket and supplemental steering pump (1) in position on the transfer gear case. Install the two nuts that hold it in place. 3. Install three O-ring seals (2) on manifold (3). 4. Put manifold (3) in position on the steering valve. Install the six bolts that hold it in place. 5. Connect two hose assemblies (5) to the bottom of the manifold.6. Connect hose assembly (7) to each side of the manifold.7. Put supply hose assembly (4) in position on the manifold, and install the four bolts that hold it in place.8. Put hose assembly (6) in place on each side of the supplemental steering pump, and install the bolts that hold them in place.9. Fill the hydraulic system to the correct level. START BY:a. remove supplemental steering pump
Keep all parts that are removed during disassembly with their respective parts.
1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the pump before it is disassembled.2. Put identification on all parts for correct assembly of the pump. 3. Remove bolt (1), lock (3) and washer (2) that hold gear (4) on the steering pump.4. Remove gear (4) from the steering pump. 5. Remove eight bolts (6) and flange (5) from the pump body. 6. Remove O-ring seal (7) from flange (5).7. Remove O-ring seals (9) and back-up rings (8) from the support rings in the flange. 8. Remove plug (10) from the flange.9. Remove two lip-type seals (11) and (13) and spacer (12) from the flange. 10. Remove isolation plates (14), sealing strips (16) and retainers (15) from the pump housing. 11. Remove pressure plate (17) from the pump housing. 12. Remove drive gear (18) and idler gear (19) from the pump housing. 13. Remove pressure plate (20) from the pump housing. 14. Remove isolation plates (21), sealing strips (24) and retainers (23) from the pump housing.15. Remove O-ring seals (22) and the back-up rings from the pump housing.Assemble Supplemental Steering Pump
1. Make an inspection of all O-ring seals and parts of the supplemental steering pump for wear or damage, and make a replacement if necessary.For information on hydraulic pump failures, see Analyzing Tyrone Pump Failures, Form No. FEG45137. For information on parts reusability, see Special Instruction, Installation Of Wear Sleeves For Repair Of Groove Wear Caused By Lip-Type Seals, Form No. SMHS6915. Make sure all the parts of the pump are clean and free of dirt and foreign material. Also put clean oil on all pump parts before assembly. The
