Some 2P4472, 3P8393, 7G0825, 8P1656, 0R5009, and0R5016 Clutch Plates may have been shipped to dealers prior to finish grinding.The clutch plates are used in various planetary groups in Caterpillar Transmissions.The suspect clutch plates are too thick and will reduce transmission clutchclearances causing clutch distress.ACTION REQUIRED
Measure the thickness of all 2P4472, 3P8393, 7G0825,8P1656, 0R5009, and 0R5016 Clutch Plates in dealer parts stock that werereceived between June 2003 and October 2003.The clutch plate thickness should be 6.35 +/-0.08 mm. Remove all 2P4472, 3P8393, 7G0825, 8P1656, 0R5009, and 0R5016Clutch Plates from stock that are greater than 6.43 mm thick.SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all 2P4472, 3P8393, 7G0825,8P1656, 0R5009, and 0R5016 Clutch Plates that were removed from dealerparts stock.PARTS DISPOSITION
All dealers are to make sure the outsideof the shipping container is marked PI70069.
