PROBLEM: Tests 27 through 32 give an indication of leakage in one or more of the cylinders. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in only one of the cylinders in a circuit.B. Leakage in both cylinders in a circuit.C. Leakage in the lift kickout circuit.D. Leakage in the bucket positioner circuit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Do the Blocked Cylinder Test for cylinders on the right side. PROBLEM: Tests 27 through 32 give an indication of leakage in the control valves. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in the relief valve for maximum pressure.B. Failure of the seals between control valve and tank.C. Leakage in the make-up valves in all circuits.D. Wear or damage in the valve body and spools. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Remove the top cover from the hydraulic tank. Let oil out of the tank until the valve group can be seen. Run the engine at a slower speed (low idle to 1000 rpm). If all the circuits are operated, the leak can be seen. PROBLEM: Tests 27 and 28 give an indication of leakage in lift control valve. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in both make-up valves for the lift circuit.B. Wear or damage in the body and spool for the control valve in lift circuit.C. Leakage in the check valve for the lift circuit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Remove the top cover from the hydraulic tank. Check for leaks. PROBLEM: Tests 29 and 30 give an indication of leakage in the tilt control valve. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in both make-up valves for the tilt circuit.B. Leakage in both tilt relief valves.C. Wear or damage in the body and spool for the control valve in the tilt circuit.D. Leakage in the check valve for the tilt circuit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Remove the top cover from the hydraulic tank. Check for leaks. PROBLEM: Tests 31 and 32 give an indication of leakage in the auxiliary control valve. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in the line and connections to the auxiliary control valve.B. Wear or damage in the body and spool for the control valve in auxiliary circuit.C. Leakage in the check valve for the auxiliary circuit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Remove the top cover from the hydraulic tank. Check for leaks.Right Side Cylinders Blocked
If the Blocked Cylinder Tests gives an indication of leakage that is too high in one or more of the cylinders, do the Blocked Cylinder Tests for the Right Side. For best accuracy, operate all controls through several cycles to get the temperature of the oil in the cylinders the same as the temperature of the oil in the hydraulic tank. Make the temperature of the complete system 150° F.Lower all implements to the ground. Stop the diesel engine. Move the control levers through OPERATE and HOLD positions to release any oil pressure. Put the control levers in HOLD position. Open the filler cap for the hydraulic tank to release any tank pressure and close the cap. Use the Blocking Plate Assemblies, to block the rod
