Remove Camshaft Bearings
START BY:a) remove camshaftb) remove flywheel housingc) remove pistonsd) remove timing gears and plate 1. Use tool (A) to remove the camshaft bearings from cylinder block starting with the rear bearing.Install Camshaft Bearings
1. Use tooling (A) to install the camshaft bearings in the cylinder block starting with the rear bearings (see illustration B71294X1 for the correct dimensions). 2. All camshaft bearings must be installed so that the oil holes in the bearings are in alignment with the oil holes in the cylinder block and the bearing joints are 45° above the horizontal centerline of the oil holes.3. After assembly the inside diameter of bearing (1) must be 69.969 0.048 mm (2.7500 .0019 in.). The remainder of the bearings must have an inside diameter of 69.982 0.061 mm (2.7552 .0024 in.).END BY:a) install timing gears and plateb) install camshaftc) install pistonsd) install flywheel housing
