Assembly Of Sound Isolator Group
(1.) Install two 5N3341 Washers (1) in 5N3330 Plate (2). Again, install one 5N3341 Washer (3) on each 5N3328 Spool (4) as shown. Press the spool and washers into plate (2). Washers (3) must be .031" .005" (0.80 0.13) above plate (2); if not, use 3B8918 Shims (5) as necessary. Install 5N3329 Plate (6) with six L1351 Bolts and 5M2894 Washers. Install 5N3332 Screw (7) with approximately .25" (6.3) of 5N3326 Shims (8).Installation Of Sound Isolator
(1.) 1) Install the isolator group onto the front support (or adapter plate) on the marine transmission with four 1B4331 Nuts (9) and 5P8248 Washers (10).2) Install 3L2227 Screw (leveling) (11), with 1D5119 Nut (12), through the support and plate (2).3) Make alignment of the engine and marine transmission to the companion flange from side to side and vertically.4) With a .807"Ø (20.5Ø) drill, drill all mounting holes in the ship's rails, using holes (A) in plates (2) as a guide.5) Install a steel plate (13) (or thick shim) between plate (2) and the ship's rails.6) Loosen leveling screws (11) and install bolts (14) as shown.7) Again, check the alignment from side to side and make adjustment if necessary.8) Again, check the vertical alignment. If adjustment is necessary, loosen nuts (9) and lift or lower the engine as needed by turning hex nuts (15). To make sure the load is equal between both mounts, try to keep nuts (15) at the same tightness.9) After alignment is complete, add shims (8) as necessary and again tighten nuts (15). To keep spools (4) from turning, use a wrench on the flat areas of the spool.10) Again, tighten nuts (9).
