Use Tooling (A) to remove two secondary fuel filters (2) .

Loosen retaining bolt (3) for primary filter housing (4) .
Remove primary filter housing (4) and filter element (5) .

Disconnect three tube assemblies (6) and hose assembly (8) from the fuel filter base.
Disconnect electrical harness connector (7) .

Remove two bolts (10), fuel priming pump (11) and the gasket. Replace the gasket with a new part for installation.
Remove three bolts (9), two bolts (12) and fuel filter base (13). The weight of the fuel filter base is 9 kg (20 lb).Installation Procedure
Check the condition of the seal that is used in the fuel filter base and priming pump assembly. If the seal is worn or damaged, use new part for replacement.

Install fuel filter base (13), three bolts (9) and two bolts (12) .
Install fuel priming pump (11) and the gasket. Install two bolts (10). The torque for bolts (10) is 25 6 N m (19 4 lb ft).

Connect three tube assemblies (6) and hose assemblies (8) to the fuel filter base.
Connect electrical harness connector (7) .

Wash filter element (5) and primary filter housing (4) in a clean solvent that is also nonflammable.
Dry the filter element and the primary filter housing with pressurized air.
Clean the filter housing base.
Install filter element (5) in primary filter housing (4) .
Do not fill fuel filter housings with fuel before installing elements.Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system components.
Install the element and primary filter housing (4) on the fuel filter base. The torque for bolt (3) is 24 4 N m (18 3 lb ft).

Clean the mounting surfaces of the secondary filter on the fuel filter base.
Apply clean diesel fuel to the seal of the new secondary filters.
Do not fill fuel filter housings with fuel before installing elements.Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system components.
Install two secondary fuel filters (2) by hand. When the seal contacts the fuel filter base, tighten the secondary fuel filters by an additional 3/4 turn.
Prime the fuel system. Refer to the appropriate Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

Close engine access door (1) .End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
