A 421-5661 Lifting Eye Assembly 2 Start By:
Release hydraulic system pressure.
Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to bulldozer lift cylinder (1). The weight of bulldozer lift cylinder (1) is approximately 227 kg (500 lb).
Illustration 2 g03811857
Remove bolts (2) and guard (3).
Illustration 3 g03811878
Remove nuts (4) and the bolts. Remove cap (5) and the shims from the cylinder rod.
Retract the cylinder rod from bulldozer blade trunnion (6).
Place cap (5) with the shims on the cylinder rod. Loosely install the four bolts with the nuts.
Illustration 4 g03811884
Disconnect hose assemblies (8) and harness assembly (10).
Remove bolts (7), caps (9), and the bulldozer lift cylinder. Installation Procedure
Install bulldozer lift cylinder (1) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 270 40 N m (199 30 lb ft).
Operate the lift cylinders for several cycles in order to purge air from the system. Fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities".
