PROBLEM
The existing platform harness lead retaining nut may be undertorqued from the factory on certain 272D Skid Steer Loaders and 299D Compact Track Loaders. If this lead loses contact with the positive battery post, the machine can stop running.

ACTION REQUIRED
1. Open the engine bay door and secure in place by installing the door safety pin.
2. Locate the battery on the right side of the engine bay, just aft of the bumper. The platform harness lead is connected to the machine-front side of the positive battery cable post.
3. Ensure that the nut securing the harness to the post has been tightened to a specified torque of 7.2 +/- 1.6 N.m.
4. Ensure the harness terminal is horizontal so that the positive battery terminal can be fully seated. Refer to Image1 for clarification.
