The propel hydrostatic transmission has a built in braking ability that is applied anytime the propel lever is moved towards the neutral position. This is the primary braking system on the machine. Use the brake pedal only when additional braking is required. Applying the brake pedal without moving the propel lever to the neutral position will damage the brake.

When you operate the machine, the service brake pedal is used in order to stop the motion of the machine. When the brake pedal is partially applied, the hydrostatic transmission is stopped. When the pedal is fully depressed, the machine brakes are applied.Note: When you release the brake pedal, the machine will accelerate to the previously set speed unless the propel lever is moved to the NEUTRAL position.
