Disconnect Strut Handler from Lift Truck
Position the 270-8312 Strut Handler on firm level ground.
Disconnect chain or lifting sling (D) from both rear lift brackets (2) and lift truck carriage/backrest (E) .
Raise lift truck forks (C) slightly and move lift truck (B) away from the tooling.Maintenance Section
Inspection
Inspect prior to each use for nicks, burrs, dents, cracks, bent, or worn parts. If damage is found, discontinue use until inspected and released for use by an approved inspector at the dealership.
Do not use unless load identification markings are legible.
Inspect the hydraulic power supply system. (Allow hot components to completely cool before inspecting system.)
Inspect the hydraulic power supply (5) fluid condition, and fluid level.Note: Refer to the hydraulic power supply operation manual for information on fluid type and recommended maintenance.
Inspect hydraulic power supply (5) for damage, leaks, or worn parts.
Inspect hydraulic hoses (23 - 26) and fittings for damage or wear. Do not use your bare hand when checking for a leak. Use cardboard to indicate leaks. Replace components as required.
Inspect hydraulic cylinders (6) for damage, leaks, or worn parts.
Inspect power cord (20) and control pendant (21) for wear or damage.
Inspect all welds and check for damaged, bent, or cracked components.
Inspect latch assemblies (13), rotator assembly (15), and adapter plate bearing blocks (16) for proper operation.
As necessary, lubricate the five Zerk (grease) fittings with a high quality grease.
One located at the backside of each latch assembly (13) .
One located at the backside of bearing block (16) .
One located at the inside end of each main pivot pin (22) .
As necessary, lubricate slots in adapter plates (12) with a high quality grease for smooth operation.

Clean the tooling using a non-solvent based cleaner.Storage
Store tooling indoors in a clean, dry location to prevent rust or corrosion.Store the tool on firm level ground to prevent tipping.Tool Disposal
At the end of the operational life of the tool, dismantle the tooling and recycle the rebuildable components. Dispose of fluids according to all regulations and mandates. Destroy the remaining tooling and dispose of as scrap.Service Parts
