When it is necessary to work under the machine with the body (bed) raised, attach the body (bed) retaining cables to the rear tow points. Install the rear tow point pins through the ends of the retaining cables.Failure to properly secure the body (bed) may result in personal injury or death.
Secure the dump body in the fully raised position and prepare the machine for maintenance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance".

Visually inspect the inverter cabinet for any of the following conditions:
Loose seals on the access doors or covers
Damaged hardware
Loose fasteners or missing fasteners
Dents or punctures in the cabinet, the access doors and the covers
If any of the above conditions exist, contact your Caterpillar dealer.
Remove the truck body retaining cable and lower the body. Cleaning Inside the Inverter Cabinet
The Power Train Electric Drive System will contain hazardous voltage levels during machine operation and for a short period of time after engine shutdown.Do not remove any covers that will expose energized high voltage electrical components while the engine is operating.Any type of maintenance on the following components can only be performed after the Power Train Electrical System Service Shutdown procedure has been followed:
High voltage compartments in the inverter cabinet
The rear axle housing that contains the electric drive traction motors
The generator
The retarding resistor grid, the grid blower motor and the grid system cabling
The excitation field regulator
The high voltage cables and connection enclosuresFailure to follow these instructions could result in personal injury or death.
Do not open the inverter cabinet specifically for cleaning the inside of the inverter cabinet.When another service procedure requires the inverter cabinet to be opened, clean the inside of the inverter cabinet with a vacuum or compressed air.Note: The maximum air pressure for cleaning purposes must be reduced to 205 kPa (30 psi).
