Dealer should first determine the quantity of walking cartridges on the failed link assembly and the average link wear percentage before continuing.

REPAIR OPTION SELECTION CRITERIA:
Dealers must select 1 of 6 repair options from the following criteria:
OPTION 1 - Track has its first experience with walking cartridges, has 3 or less non-consecutive walked cartridges, and link wear is under 25%.
OPTION 2 - Track has its first experience with walking cartridges, has 4 or more non-consecutive walked cartridges, and link wear is under 25%.
OPTION 3 - Track falls within one of the five criteria in Table #1:

4 Walking Cartridges: less than 55% Link Wear
3 Walking Cartridges: less than 65% Link Wear
2 Walking Cartridges: less than 75% Link Wear
1 Walking Cartridge:: less than 85% Link Wear
OPTION 4 ? Track has 1-5 walking cartridges, but more link wear than expressed in Table 1.
OPTION 5 ? Track has developed more than 5 non-consecutive walking cartridges.
OPTION 6 - Track has developed walking cartridges after the track has previously been repaired under Options 1 or 3 with a claim submitted.

ACTION REQUIRED:
Option 1 or 3 - Replace walked cartridges with new box assemblies at the job site or at the dealer track shop using the SystemOne Field Service Tooling and Procedures.
Option 2, 4, 5, or 6 - Replace link assembly with new link assembly.

When link assemblies, with over 40% link wear, are replaced, Caterpillar will, at the dealer?s discretion, participate in track roller replacement at the same allowance rate.

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES:
For OPTIONS 1 and 3 replacing a box assembly, and OPTION 2, replacing a link assembly with less than 25% wear:
Caterpillar?s parts participation will be 100%.
Labor participation will be 100% based on 4 hours per replaced box assembly for Options 1 and 3.
Labor participation for Option 2 will be 100% based on 6 hours per link assembly for remove, install, and shoe swap.
For OPTIONS 4, 5, or 6:
For replacing an entire link assembly, Caterpillar and customer?s parts cost participation will be determined by percent link wear life used.
Our computation for link assemblies is:
Customer Participation = Customer List Price X Percent Link Wear.
Caterpillar's parts participation = D/N Price - Customer Participation
Caterpillar?s labor participation will be 100% up to 6 hours for one link assembly.
Track Rollers: When link assemblies, with over 40% link wear are replaced using Options 4, 5, or 6; Caterpillar will participate in track roller replacement, at the dealer?s discretion.
Our computation for track rollers is:
Customer Participation = Customer List Price X Average Percent of Roller Wear.
Caterpillar's parts participation = D/N Price - Customer Participation
Caterpillar?s labor participation will be 100% up to 3 hours for all rollers on one side of tractor. (6 hours maximum)
