Remove O-ring seals (40) and O-ring seal (41) from cover (39).

Remove bolts (43) from cover (27). Remove one half of lock (42).

Install Tool (A) into cover (27). Tighten Tooling (A) evenly in order to separate cover (27) from transfer gear case assembly (12).
Install Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to cover (27). Use Tooling (D) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove cover (27) from transfer gear case assembly (12). The weight of cover (27) is approximately 82 kg (180 lb).

Attach a suitable lifting device to a flat piece of steel bar stock. Place the bar stock under the bottom of gear (44). Center the bar stock on gear (44). Use the suitable lifting device in order to lift gear (44) out of the transfer gear case assembly. The weight of gear (44) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).

Remove bearing cones (45) from gear (44).

Use two people in order to remove idler gear (46) from the transfer gear case assembly. The weight of idler gear (46) is approximately 32 kg (70 lb).

Remove the other half of lock (42), bearings (48), and spacer (47) from idler gear (46).

Remove bearing cups (50), spacer (49), and retainer ring (51) from idler gear (46).

Remove pump gear (52) from the transfer gear case assembly.

Remove bearing cones (53) from pump gear (52).

Remove idler shaft (56), tube (54), bearing cup (55), and bearing cup (57) from the transfer gear case assembly.

Remove dowels (58) and O-ring seal (59) from the transfer gear case assembly.
