Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the crankcase guard.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change". Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Check" for the correct draining and filling procedure.

Bottom view of the machine.
Remove nut (2) and move the harness assembly out of the way. Remove stud bolts (3) .
Remove bolts (1). Lower engine oil pan (4) as far as engine oil pan (4) will go.

Remove bolt (5). Remove bolts (7). Remove tube assembly (6) and the O-ring seal from the engine. Lower tube assembly (6) into engine oil pan (4). Remove engine oil pan (4) .

Remove gasket (8). Discard gasket (8) .Installation Procedure
Install engine oil pan (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Install a new gasket (8) .
Lubricate the O-ring seal for tube assembly (6) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Tighten nut (2) to a torque of 25 6 N m (221 53 lb in).
