Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities".

Open hood (1) .

Remove bolts (4) .
Remove bolts (6) and guard (3) .
Remove bolts (5) and guard (2) .

Disconnect clip (7) .

Loosen nut (10) and remove dipstick (9) .

Disconnect harness assembly (11) .
Remove bolts (12) and oil pan (13). Remove the gasket.Installation Procedure

A     4C-9612     Silicone Sealant     -    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Clean the mating surface of engine oil pan (13) and the cylinder block. Apply Tooling (A) to four areas on the sealing surface of the oil pan. The areas are marked Location (Y) .
Place a new gasket and engine oil pan (13) on the cylinder block.
Tighten the four bolts at Location (X) .
Start with the bolt at Location (Z) and tighten all remaining bolts (12) in a counterclockwise sequence.
Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 31 1 N m (23 1 lb ft).
Start again with the bolt at Location (Z) and tighten all remaining bolts in a counterclockwise sequence.
Tighten bolts (12) again to a torque of 31 1 N m (23 1 lb ft).
Connect harness assembly (11) .

Install dipstick (9) and tighten nut (10) .
Connect clip (8) .

Install guard (3) and bolts (6) .
Install bolts (4) .

Close hood (1) .
Fill the engine with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities".
