Checking Hydraulic System Oil Level
Never remove the fill/vent plug from the hydraulic tank if the oil is hot.Air can enter the system and cause pump damage.
The hydraulic tank is on the right side of the machine.1. Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the hydraulic shear to the plank with stick in the vertical position, as shown above. Make sure that the machine is stabilized in the servicing position. Stop the engine.
(A) Level at High Temperature(B) Level at Low Temperature2. Open the access door on the right side of the machine in order to access the sight gauge. For a cold machine (Approximately 10 to 30 degrees Celsius), maintain the hydraulic oil level in the lower temperature range. For a machine that is at normal operating temperature (Approximately 50 to 80 degrees Celsius), maintain the hydraulic oil level in the high temperature range. Add oil, if necessary.Filling the Hydraulic Tank
Never remove the fill/vent plug from the hydraulic tank if the oil is hot.Slowly loosen the fill/vent plug on top of the hydraulic tank in order to relieve the internal pressure of the hydraulic tank.
1. Relieve the internal pressure of the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the standard machines, "Maintenance Section" for more information.2. After pressure is relieved, remove the fill/vent plug.3. Add the specified hydraulic oil through the oil filter port to the level (A) or (B) shown on the previous page.4. Check the O-ring on the plug. Replace the O-ring if any wear or damage is found.5. Install and tighten the fill/vent plug to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 68 7 N m (6.9 0.7 kgf m)6. Start the engine. Perform light-load operations 5 to 10 times while uniformly actuating each cylinder. Then return the machine to the servicing position.7. Stop the engine. Check the oil level. Add oil, if necessary.
