The TH31 and TH35 transmissions that are equipped with the 283-3432 Transmission Filter Gp may experience problems with the filter bypass light activating prematurely.Solution

Remove 209-6632 Bypass Valve Gp (A) from the lower left side of the transmission.
Remove bolts and washers (C) .
Remove 134-0404 Pressure Switch (B) .

(1) O-ring seal (2) O-ring seal (4) O-ring adapter (5) Dust cap (6) Bolts (7) Hard washers (8) Fluid sampling valve (10) Cover
Install cover (10) and O-ring seal (1). Lubricate the seal with the lubricant that is being sealed. Position the cover with "Top" and the port in the upward position.
Install four bolts (6) and four hard washers (7). Tighten the bolts to 30 4 N m (22 3 lb ft).
Install O-ring seal (2), O-ring adapter (4), and fluid sampling valve (8) to cover (10) .
Install dust cap (5) on fluid sampling valve (8) .

Install switch harness (9) by using four cable straps (3) .
Attach one end of switch harness (9) to existing connector (D) for the transmission harness.

(C) Bolts and washers (9) Switch harness (11) Pressure switch
Install pressure switch (11) by using bolts and washers (C). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft).
Attach the end of switch harness (9) to pressure switch (11) (Brown). Connect the ground (black wire) to one of the mounting bolts for the bracket.
