PROBLEM:
The 232-6183 Machine Controller Flash may incorrectly log fault code 1618-14 (199-5179 Swash Plate Angle Sensor short to ground). This code is likely the result of the sensor turning off before the machine controller shuts down when the key is turned off, and does not indicate a sensor failure. This nuisance fault code is not logged as an event, and is not visible to the operator.
SOLUTION:
Ensure the machine controller is using the latest Flash File, 232-6183. Currently, no other action can be taken to correct this fault logging issue. The 199-5179 Swash Plate Angle Sensor failures will be indicated by improper Automatic Engine Control (AEC) activity, and other 1618-xx fault codes. A new Machine Controller Flash File to correct this problem will be announced to the field via a Service Magazine Article.
