Attach Tooling (B) to output transfer gears (70). Attach Tooling (C) to torque converter (71). Attach a suitable lifting device with Tooling (D) to Tooling (B) and Tooling (C). The weight of the torque converter, the transmission and the output transfer gears as a unit is approximately 1724 kg (3800 lb).

Remove bolts (72). Repeat for the other side.

Remove top cap (73). Repeat for the other side.

Use the suitable lifting device in order to raise the torque converter, the transmission and the output transfer gears so that lower cap (74) can be removed. Repeat for the other side.

Remove two bolts and install Tooling (E) in place of the two original bolts that were removed.
Remove the remainder of bolts (75). The torque converter, the transmission and the output transfer gears will need to be raised and lowered by using the suitable lifting device in order to gain access to the remainder of bolts (75).

Pull plate assembly (76) away from the transmission. Tooling (E) that was installed in step 42 will prevent plate assembly (76) from falling.
Attach Tooling (F) and a suitable lifting device to plate assembly (76). The weight of plate assembly (76) is approximately 95 kg (210 lb). Remove Tooling (E) and use the suitable lifting device to lower plate assembly (76) to the ground. Repeat for the other side.

Remove bolts (77). Use the suitable lifting device in order to remove the torque converter, the transmission and the output transfer gears (78) as a unit. The weight of the torque converter, the transmission and the output transfer gears as a unit is approximately 1724 kg (3800 lb).
