cold start strategy utilizes the input of the coolant temperature sensor. The cold start strategy helps to provide the following features: quicker cold starts, white smoke cleanup, decreased deep cycling of the battery and extended engine life.Engine rpm is limited to 500 rpm during engine start-up. After the engine is running, the engine rpm is limited to the customer programmed low idle of 600 to 750 rpm. The default is 700 rpm.The cold mode activates only during the following conditions:
The coolant temperature is below 16 °C (60 °F).
The throttle is in the low idle position.The cold mode deactivates during the following conditions:
The coolant temperature reaches 28°C (82°F).
The engine has run for 5 minutes.
