Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts.Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified.The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped.Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine.
Illustration 1 g02478071To check the tension of the auger conveyor drive chain, grab the auger with both hands. Rotate the auger back and forth. If the auger rotation (A) is more than 19 mm 5 mm (0.75 inch), the drive chain must be adjusted.

Loosen four mounting bolts (1).
Loosen jam nut (2).
Turn adjusting nut (3) until the auger can be rotated 13 mm (0.50 inch) to 19 mm (0.75 inch).
Tighten mounting bolts (1) and jam nut (2).
