Information:

45. Install clutch piston (63) in No. 2 clutch housing (64). The weight of the No. 2 clutch housing is 23 kg (51 lb). 46. Use Tooling (B) and a hoist to install clutch piston (63) and No. 2 clutch housing (64) as a unit. The combined weight of the clutch piston and No. 2 clutch housing is 77 kg (170 lb). 47. Install ring gear (62). 48. Install retaining ring (61) to coupling gear (60). 49. Install coupling gear (60). 50. Place bearing cage (55) on blocks, and use Tooling (E) to install bearing (59) as shown. 51. Install retaining ring (58) in bearing cage (55). 52. Install dowel (57) into sun gear assembly (56). 53. Install sun gear assembly (56) into bearing cage (55). 54. Use eight bolts (53), and four nut locks (54) to secure bearing cage (55). 55. Install six reaction pins (49) and 12 springs (50). Put clean oil on the clutch discs and clutch plates. Install four clutch discs (51) and three clutch plates (52) in alternating order. Start with a clutch disc and end with a clutch disc. 56. Install four dowels (48) into No. 1 clutch housing (46). The weight of the No. 1 clutch housing is 55 kg (120 lb). 57. Put clean oil on seal rings (47). Install two seal rings (47) on clutch piston (45). Install the two seal rings so the oil groove and sealing edge will be facing toward the inside of the clutch housing. 58. Install clutch piston (45) in No. 1 clutch housing (46). 59. Use Tooling (B) and a hoist to install clutch piston (45) and No. 1 clutch housing (46) as a unit. The combined weight of the clutch piston and No. 1 clutch housing is 77 kg (170 lb). 60. Install seal ring (44) to sun gear (43). 61. Install sun gear (43) on input shaft assembly (27). There is a correct method to make the new rings ready for installation. Use your hands on each end of the ring to pull the ends several inches by each other. See Figure 1. Use care to keep the ring shape like a circle. This makes and even bend (or ring "set") all the way around the ring. When the ring is in the groove, the notches in the ends must make contact with each other so the ring will not hit the edge of the cage bore. That is, the notches must be fully engaged and the ends must be together. See Figure 2.
Do not bend the ring as the ring is shown in Figure 3. This does not make an even bend all the way around the ring. This procedure is not for cast iron rings.
