MATERIAL HANDLER,
Information:
If the detection area is to too narrow or contains holes in the coverage area the angles of the brackets of the object detection sensors may require adjusment. Refer to the ""Adjust the Object Detection Sensors"" section of this manual for additional information regarding the adjustment of the brackets.Rear of the Machine
The target vehicle will be driven close to the machine and parallel to the rear of the machine and the object detection system display is checked for the target detection. The target vehicle will then be driven parallel to the rear of the machine in an S-pattern as shown in Illustration 100. The target vehicle should start close to the machine for its first pass and work away from the machine with each successive pass. Stop the passes once the truck is no longer detected.
Illustration 100 g01945382
Object detection test with a target driving behind the rear of the machine in an "S" pattern.Once the target vehicle disappears from the radar in the S-pattern, the target vehicle is driven in a perpendicular fashion towards the rear center of the machine. This is to ensure that there are not any holes in the perpendicular direction at the rear of the machine.
Illustration 101 g01973293
Object detection test with a target driving perpendicular to the front of the machine. The person in the cab of the machine will inform the driver of the target vehicle when to mark the coverage start/stop point. The start/stop points must be marked when the target vehicle first appears or first disappears from radar coverage on the object detection system display. The designated reference point for the rear radars will be the center of the machine. The distance from the initial perpendicular detection (A) must be measured and should be approximately 20 m (65 ft) from the rear axle of the machine.

Sample of object detection coverage area at the rear of the machineIf the detection area is to narrow or contains holes in the coverage area the angles of the brackets of the object detection sensors. Refer to the ""Adjust the Object Detection Sensors"" section of this manual for additional information regarding the adjustment of the brackets.Right Side and Left Side of the Machine
The target vehicle will first be driven straight towards the truck in passes parallel to each other on the sides of the machine, as shown in Illustration 103. Secondly the target vehicle will be driven on each side of the machine is a parallel path to the machine from one end to the other. Repeat in the opposite direction on the same path. This is performed to assess precisely the coverage area for the radar. This pattern will be completed on both sides of the machine. The target vehicle should start centered up on the designated measurement point and out of detection range of the radar. The target Vehicle will drive towards the machine stopping whenever the truck appears on the radar detection area. Passes will be done on each side of the first pass until the
