Remove two bolts (1) from flywheel (2). Install Tooling (A).

Install Tooling (B), Tooling (C), and Tooling (D) to support the weight of flywheel (2). The weight of flywheel (2) is approximately 177 kg (390 lb). Remove remaining bolts (1). Remove spacer (3). Slide flywheel (2) on Tooling (A). Remove flywheel (2).Installation Procedure

Inspect the condition of the ring gear. Use the following procedure to replace the ring gear, if necessary.
Remove the damaged ring gear from the flywheel.
Raise the temperature of the new ring gear.
Install the ring gear on the flywheel. Ensure that the chamfer of the gear teeth will be toward the pinion of the starting motor.

Install Tooling (A).

Use Tooling (B), Tooling (C), and Tooling (D) to position flywheel (2) onto Tooling (A). The weight of flywheel (2) is approximately 177 kg (390 lb).

Install spacer (3) onto flywheel (2). Lubricate the threads of new bolts (1) with oil. Install new bolts (1). Remove Tooling (B), Tooling (C), and Tooling (D).

Remove Tooling (A) and install remaining new bolts (1).
Apply clean engine oil to bolts (1) and tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 1000 60 N m (738 44 lb ft).
