When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Remove the work tool from the host machine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Work Tool Installation and Removal" for the correct removal and installation procedure.

Use a suitable lifting device to remove head assembly (3). Refer to Table 2 for the approximate weight of head assembly (3). Remove bolts (2) and head assembly (3).

Using Tooling (A) to remove bushings (4) from head assembly (3). Installation Procedure
Install head assembly (3) and bushings (4) in the reverse order of removal.

Install bushings (4) into head assembly (3) to a depth of 6.00 1.00 mm (0.236 0.039 inch).
Install seal assembly (5) so the lip faces the outside. Seal assembly should not extend past the head assembly face.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (2). Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 520 70 N m (384 52 lb ft).
