Removal Procedure
Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment.To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system.Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on.
Disconnect the battery.
Make temporary identification marks on the harness assemblies that are connected to the electric starting motor. Disconnect the harness assemblies from the electric starting motor.

Remove nuts (3) from electric starting motor (1) .Note: Support the weight of the electric starting motor as the nuts are removed.
Remove electric starting motor (1) .
If necessary, remove studs (2) .Installation Procedure

If necessary, install studs (2) .
Align electric starting motor (1) to studs (2). Install the electric starting motor.
Install nuts (3). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 35 N m (26 lb ft).
Connect the harness assemblies to the electric starting motor. Refer to Specifications, "Electric Starting Motor" for the tightening torques of the terminal nuts.
Connect the battery.
