TRACK-TYPE TRACTOR,
Information:
This saw is used for cutting XT-3 and XT-5 hose of all sizes. It makes a smooth, clean cut so that quality hose assemblies can be made with the use of 7S1100 Hydraulic Press Arrangement. (See Form SMHS6880).Installation
1 5P6542 Saw Group needs a 3 to 5 horsepower motor that turns at 3450 RPM. The motor RPM can be different if the correct pulley arrangement is used to make the blade turn at 2000 to 2500 RPM. There are four 3/8"-16 holes (A) in the base that can be used to install a motor, but more holes can be easily drilled for different motor installations.2 Install the saw on a bench or stand that will not move while a cut is being made. Use the three holes (B) to fasten the saw to the bench, in a position that permits access on both sides of the saw, for hose clearance. It must be installed in a well ventilated (open) area. An exhaust fan directly above the saw adds to the operator's safety and comfort. How To Make The Cut
1 Pins (1) can be installed in five possible positions on cutting table (2). To cut small diameter hose (3), put the pins in a position toward the center of the table; for large diameter hose (4), move the pins toward the outer edge of the table. This holds the hose in a bent position during the cut, which causes the hose to spread away (open) from the blade as the cut is made to decrease heat and friction. See the chart above.2 Pull cutting table (2) away from the blade until table lock (5) is engaged. Lift knob (6) to release the ratchet, then pull handle (7) away from the cutting table. Put the hose to be cut on table (2). Push handle (7) toward the blade until the hose is in the bent position desired. The ratchet will hold the hose in this position.3 Before the cut is started, make sure the hose is flat on cutting table (2). Start the saw. Release table lock (5) and push the hose toward the blade with handle (7). Use strong, even pressure for best results. Do not jam (force) the hose into the blade. An average cut for a large hose will take less than ten seconds. Stop the saw.4 Pull the cutting table away from the blade and remove the hose. Clean the inside of the hose with compressed air; use a clean cloth to remove debris to a depth at least equal to the length of the stem to be installed into the hose. Hose (A) shows an acceptable cut.Maintenance Of 5P6223 Blade
Blade (1) is fastened in position by a nut with left hand threads.1 5P6223 Blade (1) has a scalloped design. This design cuts cooler and has a longer life than standard beveled friction blades. For the best results from this blade and to prevent injury, the following steps should be followed: (A) Before the blade is installed, make
