Service - Calibrations - Choose the calibration procedure
To access the calibration procedures for the Implement ECM, establish the Cat ET connection to the Implement ECM. Navigate to the calibration screens by clicking "Service", then "Calibrations". Click on the solenoid calibration or position sensor calibration that is needed.Once the specific calibration is selected, the Cat ET display will guide you through the calibration procedure.The Cat ET display will list initial machine conditions that must be satisfied before the ECM will allow the calibration procedure to continue. Follow the specific instructions on the display in order to successfully complete the calibration procedure.The following list details the calibrations that can be performed for Implement ECM controlled components.Solenoid Calibrations
Solenoid calibrations allow the ECM to determine the correct amount of output current that is required to initiate the opening of the affected pilot valve in order to provide optimum performance and control of the hydraulic system.To perform a solenoid calibration, select the specific solenoid in the CAT ET screen and follow the displayed directions. Calibration procedures are available for the following solenoids: Blade Lift Control - Blade left/right raise solenoids, Blade left/right lower solenoids, Blade left/right lower float solenoidsCircle Drive Control - Circle right/left solenoidsBlade Pitch Control - Blade pitch forward/backward solenoidsBlade Sideshift Control - Blade sideshift left/right solenoidsCircle Sideshift Control - Circle sideshift left/right solenoidsArticulation Control - Articulate left/right solenoidsWheel Lean Control - Wheel Lean left/right solenoidsAuxiliary Valves 1 thru 6 Control - Solenoid 1 and solenoid 2 for each valvePosition Sensor Calibrations
For position sensor calibrations, select the specific position sensor from the CAT ET screen and follow the displayed directions. Calibration procedures are available for the following position sensors: Articulation Angle Position Sensor - Position sensor 1 - The Articulation Angle Sensor Calibration allows the ECM to calibrate the two articulation angle sensors in order to display the correct articulation angle and provide optimum automatic neutral articulation performance.Articulation Angle Position Sensor - Position sensor 2Steer Cylinder Length Sensor - Steer right cylinder position sensor - Steer cylinder length sensor calibration allows the ECM to determine the correct left and right steer cylinder length position sensor positions for a zero degree steering angle. When the steer cylinder length sensors are correctly calibrated, the position sensor input to the ECM is optimized.Steer Cylinder Length Sensor - Steer left cylinder position sensorNote: When steer cylinder position sensors are replaced, a special procedure for downloading or manually entering position sensor parameter information to the Implement ECM must be performed, refer to the following procedures in this manual. After replacement of only the steer cylinder position sensor, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Position Sensor (Steering Cylinder) - Set". After replacement of the complete steer cylinder group, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "New Steer Cylinder Group - Set".
