WIRING GP-HYDRAULIC GENERATOR 3291276 - Caterpillar

Installation Procedure:
1. Park the machine on a hard smooth level surface, lower implements to the ground, turn the key switch to OFF. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.2. Disconnect the wiring harness at the 3E-9359 Hour Meter. Remove and discard the hour meter.3. Cut off the blade terminals on the harness wires that were connected to the 3E-9359 Hour Meter. The 123-0957 Harness Assembly located in the steering column may contain wires for the hour meter that are too short. If this condition is found, adjust the routing of the harness to provide more length. If adjustment of the harness does not provide adequate length for the wires, 50.0 mm (1.97 in) of additional wire can be spliced onto the existing wire.4. Using the 6V-3001 Crimp Tool, install a 7N-7779 Socket on the 403 Green wire, and on the 101 Red wire. Also use the 6V-3001 Crimp Tool to install a 7N-7780 Pin on the 200 Black wire.5. Install the wires, with sockets and pins attached as described in Step 4, in the 7N-7782 Plug using the 6V-3008 Insertion Tool. The 403 Green wire should be installed in plug location 3. The 101 Red wire should be installed in plug location 2. The 200 Black wire should be installed in plug location 1.6. Connect the 100-5052 Control to the three pin Sure-Seal connector installed on the harness wires in Step 5. Secure the connector with a 9G-9153 Clip. Cut the small blade terminals off the 100-5052 Control and install 5P-4571 Terminals on each of the wires using the 9S-9150 Crimp Tool.7. Install a new 3E-9359 Hour Meter. At the hour meter, connect the brown wire of the 100-5052 Control to terminal 1, connect the black wire to terminal 2, and connect the green wire to terminal 3. If the 100-5052 Control Group is not installed, the wires at the meter should be connected as follows. The 101 Red wire (battery) should be connected to terminal 1. The 403 Green wire (alternator R terminal) should be connected to terminal 3. The 200 Black wire (ground) should be connected to terminal 2.8. Use a 3S-2093 Wire Tie to secure loose wires. Test the machine for proper operation of the hour meter. The hour glass symbol on the meter face will flash about every 3 seconds when the meter is counting. The symbol will be solid when not counting. The hour glass symbol should not be present when the battery disconnect switch is in the OFF position. The symbol should appear, but not flash, when the battery disconnect switch is placed in the ON position and the engine is not running. If the symbol flashes when the battery disconnect switch is placed in the ON position with the engine not running, the wiring at the meter is not properly connected. Refer to Step 7 or the Note below Step 7.
