Assembly Procedure
Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install check valve (16), the spring, and the screw into housing (1).
Position valve (15), spring (14), and exhaust cover (13) into housing (1) for installation.
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Use Tooling (A) to install retaining ring (12) onto housing (1).

Install O-ring seal (11) onto housing (1).
Install O-ring seal (9) onto piston (10). Install piston (10) into housing (1).

Install O-ring seal (5) to poppet (6).
Position spring (4) and poppet (6) into housing (1) for installation.
Position spring (8) and spring (7) into housing (1) for installation.

Position cover (3) for installation. Position housing (1) and cover (3) into a suitable bench vise. Use the bench vise and cover (3) to compress the springs.
Use four screws (2) in order to install cover (3) to housing (1).
Remove the inverter valve from the bench vise. End By:
Install the inverter valve (secondary brake). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inverter Valve (Secondary Brake) - Install".
