Removal Procedure

Turn the battery disconnect switch (1) to the OFF position.

Remove four bolts (1) and the washers from cover (2). Remove the cover from the battery box (3) .

Loosen bolt (4) that holds the negative terminal to the battery. Remove the terminal.
Repeat Step 3 in order to remove the positive terminal.
Remove two nuts (5) and the washers that secure hold-down (6) to rod (8). Remove hold-down (6) from rods (8) and battery (7) .
Use a lifting device and a hoist in order to remove the battery (7) from the battery box. The weight of battery (7) is 27 kg (60 lb).
Repeat Steps 1 through 6 in order to remove the remaining battery (7) .Installation Procedure

Use a lifting device and a hoist in order to install the battery (7) into the battery box. The weight of the battery (7) is 27 kg (60 lb).
Position hold-down (6) onto rods (8) and battery (7) .
Install two self-locking nuts (5) and the washers that secure hold-down (6) to rods (8) .
Tighten self-locking nut (5) to a torque of 9.8 1 N m (7.2 0.7 lb ft).
Install the positive terminal to the battery (7) .
Install the negative terminal to the battery (7) .
Tighten the terminal bolts (4) to a torque of 7.2 1.4 N m (5.30 1.00 lb ft).
Install the rubber boots over the terminals.

Position cover (2) over the battery box (3). Install four bolts (1) and the washers in order to secure the cover to the battery box (3) .

Turn the battery disconnect switch (1) to the ON position.
