The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
The whole air filter assembly must be removed on certain C4.4 engines just in order to remove the air filter. This issue is happening on C4.4 engines that are enclosed.Solution
The air filter assembly must be moved so the air filter can be removed without removing the whole assembly. A new air hose is also available to deal with the relocation of the air filter assembly.

Loosen the two hose clamps (1) that secure the old 264-6397 Air Filter Hose (2). Remove the 264-6397 Air Filter Hose from the engine and the air filter assembly.

Mounting screw for the air filter assembly
Loosen the mounting screw (3) .

(4) Air filter assembly
Move the assembly (4) 50 mm (2.0 inches) in the direction shown in Illustration 4. Refer to Illustration 4 for the proper direction in order to move the air filter assembly.

Tighten the mounting screw (3) .

Install the new 315-5265 Hose (6) on the air filter assembly and the engine. Use the two hose clamps that were removed in Step 1 to secure the new 315-5265 Hose .
