Install hose clamp (6) around hose (3). Refer to Illustration 5.Note: Ensure that rubber spacer is located against plastic neck before torquing clamps.
Torque all clamps to 11 N m (8 lb ft) and retorque the clamps after ten minutes.
Reinstall strainer (B) into fuel filler neck (A).

Install cap

Install cap (C) onto pipe assembly (5). Refer to Illustration 6
Turn on battery disconnect switch.499-2195 Fuel Filler Replace Procedure Kit
Note: Use this replace procedure after fuel filler neck has failed.
Turn off battery disconnect switch.
Remove fuel filler cap.

Remove strainer (B) inside fuel filler neck (A). Refer to Illustration 7.

Install rag or cap inside fuel filler neck (A) to ensure that no debris falls into fuel tank. Refer to Illustration 8.

Cut top of fuel filler neck
(A) Fuel filler neck
Cut 25 mm (1.0 inch) off the top of the damaged fuel filler neck (A). Refer to Illustration 9.
Clean the area and remove the debris from the fuel filler neck.
Remove the rag or cap from the fuel filler neck.

Install adapter hose (3) and hose clamp (4) over the plastic fuel filler neck (A). Refer to Illustration 10.

Install cap (C) onto pipe assembly (5). Refer to Illustration 14.
Turn on battery disconnect switch.
