Connect the steering frame lock.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Raise the lift arms and position Tooling (A) to support the lift arms.
Activate the parking brake.
Release the hydraulic system pressure.
Retain the hydraulic tank oil.
Move the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove all bolts (1) and remove cover assembly (2).

Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and (4) from auxiliary control valve (5).

Disconnect hose assemblies (7), (8), and (9). Disconnect harness assembly (6).

Remove nut (10).
Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to auxiliary control valve (5). The weight of auxiliary control valve (5) is approximately 47 kg (104 lb).Note: Part of Tooling (B) attaches where nut (10) was removed.
Remove bolts (11) and auxiliary control valve (5).Installation Procedure
Install auxiliary control valve (5) in the reverse order of removal.Note: If auxiliary control valve (5) was disassembled and then assembled, the following steps must be performed after the installation procedure.
Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Relief Valve Line - Test and Adjust" for the relief and check valves.
Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Pressure Limiter (Auxiliary Valve) Check and Adjust" for the pressure limiter valve.
