Information:


Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping refrigerant R-134A can cause freezing of human flesh.Do not smoke while working on air conditioning systems. INHALING REFRIGERANT R-134A THROUGH ANY SMOKING MATERIAL, ALTHOUGH NOT TOXIC OR FLAMMABLE, CAN GENERATE LETHAL PHOSGENE GAS AND CAUSE VIOLENT ILLNESS OR DEATH. ALSO, HEAT MUST NEVER BE APPLIED TO A CHARGED SYSTEM. See Air Conditioning and Heating Service Manual, Form No. SENR5664, for more information on removal and installation of lines and refrigerant from the system.
1. Evacuate the air conditioning system. Refer to Air Conditioning and Heating Service Manual, SENR5664 for the correct procedure. 2. Remove bolts (2) and washers from rear engine guard (1). Swing the engine guard on pin (3) to access the engine support.3. Remove the torque converter guard. The weight of the torque converter guard is 41 kg (90 lb). 4. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key.5. Disconnect two electrical cables (5) from the starter motor solenoid.6. Disconnect three earth cables (4) from the starter motor. 7. Disconnect fuel hose assemblies (6) and (7) from the manifold. 8. Disconnect hose assembly (8) from the adapter.9. Disconnect the breather hose assembly (obscured) from the torque converter housing.10. Disconnect hose assembly (9) from the manifold.11. Disconnect pipe assembly (10) from the implement pump. 12. Remove twelve bolts (11) and washers from cover (12) and remove the cover. 13. Remove the bolts and washers from cover (13) and remove the cover.14. Remove clamp (16). Remove the clamp that holds elbow (14) to the turbocharger. Remove tube (15) and elbow (14) from the machine. 15. Disconnect hose assemblies (21) and (22) from the brake release pump. Remove the clip (obscured) from hose (21) at the torque converter outlet relief valve.16. Disconnect electrical connectors (18),(19) and (20). Remove the cable ties. Remove clip (25) from the bracket.17. Disconnect the engine wiring harness from the clips and move clear of the engine.18. Disconnect hose assembly (24) from the oil cooler (obscured).19. Remove clamp (23) from the torque converter housing. 20. Remove the bolt and washer from clip (26).21. Disconnect hose assembly (27) from the elbow (obscured).22. Remove the bolts, washers and spacer from clamp (28).23. Disconnect hose assembly (29) from the torque converter scavenge pump.24. Disconnect hose assembly (30) from the adapter. 25. Cut the cable ties and disconnect the air conditioner wiring harness (31) from the connector.26. Disconnect hose assemblies (32) and (33) from the air conditioner.
Typical Example27. Remove the two bolts from rear support cap (34) and remove the cap.28. Repeat Step 27 for the other side support cap.
Typical Example29. Remove four bolts (35) and washers from the front support. 30. Attach suitable lifting chains and a hoist to engine lifting eyes (36) and (37). Prior to the removal of the engine and torque converter group from the rear frame, make sure all hose assemblies, tube assemblies and wires have been disconnected.31.
