Information:

Start by:a. Disassemble torque converter updrive transfer gearbox. 1. Remove spiral lockring (2). Remove carrier assembly (1) from the torque converter. 2. Remove O-ring seal (3) from the carrier assembly.3. Remove seal ring (4) from the carrier. 4. Support carrier assembly on tooling (A) and a press. Remove carrier (5) from the carrier assembly. 5. Remove spiral lockring (6) from the carrier assembly. 6. Use tooling (A) and a press to remove bearing (7). 7. Remove bolts (8). Remove gear (9) from the torque converter. 8. Remove spiral lockring (11) from the gear. Remove bearing race (10). 9. Remove bolts (12) that hold impeller flange assembly to housing. 10. Install four 3/8 in - 16 NC forcing screws (13) in the impeller flange. Loosen impeller flange from housing and remove impeller flange (14) and hub as a unit. 11. Remove the bolts that hold hub (15) to impeller flange. Remove hub (15) from impeller flange. 12. Remove bearing races and bearing (16) from the carrier. 13. Remove carrier (17) and stator from the housing. 14. Remove retainer ring (18). Remove stator (19) from the carrier. 15. Remove retainer ring (30) from the opposite side of the stator. 16. Remove bearing (21) from the carrier. 17. Remove bearing races and bearing (22) from the hub. 18. Remove turbine (23) and hub from the housing. 19. Remove bolts (24) that hold hub to turbine. 20. Remove bolt retainer (25), then make a separation of turbine (23) and hub (26). 21. Remove spiral lockring ring (27) from the hub. 22. Remove bearing races (28) and bearing (29) from the cover assembly. 23. Turn housing over. Remove bolts (30) from spider assembly. 24. Install two 3/8 in - 16 NC forcing screws (31) and remove spider assembly (32) from the housing. 25. Remove bearing (33) from the spider assembly.Assemble Torque Converter
1. Make sure all of the parts of the torque converter are clean and free of dirt and foreign material before assembly.2. Lower the temperature of the bearing and install it in the spider assembly (1) with tool group (A). 3. Install spider assembly (1) on the housing and install the bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 110 5 N m (80 4 lb ft). 4. Install bearing races (3) and bearing (2) on the spider assembly. 5. Install spiral lockring (4) in hub (5). 6. Install turbine (6) on hub (5), then install bolt retainer (7) on hub. Install bolts on opposite side of the hub. Tighten these bolts to a torque of 50 3 N m (37 2 lb ft). 7. Install the turbine and hub assembly in the housing. Check the clearance between the hub and the bearing in the spider assembly. The clearance across the diameter must be 0.114 0.051 mm (.0045 .0020 in). 8. Check the clearance between the turbine and the torque converter housing. The clearance dimension (U) across the diameter must be 2.67
